Romeo & Juliet Plate
 by Don Kime

I wrote an article sometime ago about this plate, but felt like I should come out again.

Roland and I went to Oklahoma City, many years ago and while rummaging around in one antique shop, found this plate. It’s unusual and neither of us had seen one before.  We bought it and kept wondering its history.  I wrote Mr. Frank Fenton and the letter following is his reply.  On the front at the top, it has the lettering “Romeo & Juliet”.  At the bottom it has “Valentines Day 1972”.   On the back appear these words: “Famous Lovers”, the Fenton Logo, and No 1 in an Annual Series of Collector’s Plate’s Commemorating Valentines Day”. Underneath in very very small letters are the words “Kensington Glass and China Company”.
